Julia Cruz Fallica
B.A. English, M.A. Educational Leadership,Bilingual Teaching Credential, CrossFit Level 1 Certified, Yoga Instructor
Julia joined the CFEC family as a client in early 2008. Within a week she was hooked by the unpredictable, high-intensity workouts and the skill and encouragement of her trainers. She soon became addicted and began to speak strangely (What’s your FRAN time?), spent hours watching CrossFit videos on “YouTube”, and started showing off her calloused hands. When Paul asked her to join the CFEC coaching staff, she was eager and honored to become part of such a fantastic team.
Julia brings with her 21 years of dedicated yoga practice. For the last 9 years she has focused on Ashtanga Yoga, a vigorous and physically demanding form of the practice. Julia also has 15 years of elementary school teaching experience. She currently teaches fourth-grade and kids’ yoga classes at Warren-Walker School in La Mesa.
Julia blends her outgoing personality, her sense of humor, her drive and her teaching skills into to her coaching. She is dedicated to life-long learning and fitness. It is her goal to inspire clients of all ages, experience and ability levels to do their best and then do a little bit more. She leads by example, managing a busy work schedule and home life while still fitting in her regular workouts. Her husband and 3 children can all be seen at CFEC, enjoying the family atmosphere and demonstrating that CrossFit is accessible to everyone.
Julia’s mottos: “To rise above mediocrity, you must not be afraid to fail.” And, “Whoops!”
